About the project
- Proposed concept to change the entire layout and flow of traffic through the Caulfield Cup. The idea to change the layout was put into motion by the Melbourne Racing Committee securing a new / potential leasing contract with a yearly event, that would require the area to have a number of retaining walls and areas leveled out.
- Proposed moving the main entry of the racecourse to align with the train station located across the road to ease foot / traffic congestion on event days.
- To update the feel of cup day and draw more attention to the race track, fair haven structures have been used (circus like structures) to enhance the feel of a more family friendly / picnic race day.
- New arraignment needed to allow for more vendors to be able to be on site at the event as well as accommodate all existing vendors.
